Gabe Jarrett and VORCZA to Perform at SUNY Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Sept. 20, 2010) – The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music announces
a faculty recital by Gabe Jarrett and his band, VORCZA, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept.
30, in Krinovitz Recital Hall, Hawkins Hall.
The band, based in Burlington, Vt., features Ray Paczkowski, who has performed with
Trey Anastasio and Dave Matthews and will be on vocals and keys; Robinson Morse of
Viperhouse on acoustic and electric bass; and Jarrett, formerly of Jazz Mandolin
Project, on drums. Jarrett teaches drum set/percussion and directs the percussion

VORCZA is a collaborative project made up of a trio of musicians who are primarily
interested in improvisation. They describe themselves as “musical evolution at high
speed.” Their sound marries jazz, funk and world-influenced rhythms in what could
be labeled as jazz, experimental, or progressive music.
The group has been called “rising stars of a new jazz generation” by Seven Days and cited as “one of the more daring trios going today” by Glide Magazine.
Admission to Thursday’s concert is free and open to the public.
