Full-Day Blueprint Reading and Estimating Seminar

PLATTSBURGH, NY__Take the mystery out of blueprint reading for estimating construction costs. The North Country Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh, in cooperation with Champlain National Bank, will offer a seminar designed for owners, operators and estimators to gain insight into reading blueprints and developing estimates.

Bidding and estimating is a crucial skill for any contractor. This construction industry seminar will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mowry Conference Room in Redcay Hall at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Pat Travers, an engineer, cost estimator and project manager with 20 years of experience in the construction industry, will offer an overview of the purpose and creation process of blueprints, contractual implications, types of drawings, interpreting information on drawings and using the drawings to develop estimates.

The seminar is $35 per person and includes a buffet lunch. To register, call the SBDC at 518-564-2042.
