Frontier Saxophone Quartet to Play on Campus
PLATTSBURGH, NY (October 2, 2007) - Associate Professor Daniel Gordon will present a faculty recital featuring the Frontier Saxophone Quartet on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. in the Krinovitz Recital Hall in Hawkins Hall at The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.
The chamber ensemble consists of Gary Scavone from McGill University, Montreal, playing soprano saxophone; Todd Pray from Peru Central School playing alto saxophone; Claudia Schaetzle from the college d'enseignement general et professionnel (CEGEP) Marianopolis, Montreal, playing tenor saxophone; and Gordon from SUNY Plattsburgh, playing baritone saxophone.
The program will consist of original works and transcriptions for saxophone quartet which have been written by Farkas, Tchaikovsky, Densenclos, Wilson, Cowell, and Dervaux.
