Film Chronicles Navajo Creation Story Translation Project
The SUNY Plattsburgh departments of music and anthropology are co-presenting the film, “Dine Bahane: Dr. Paul Zolbrod’s Journey into the Voice of the Navajo Creation Story,” Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. in Krinovitz Recital Hall.
The film details Zolbrod’s 12-year quest to translate “Dine Bahane,” or Navajo Creation Story, into English with the approval of Dine (Navajo) elders. Zolbrod will be in attendance for a discussion session that also features filmmakers Dr. William Pfaff, associate professor of music, and photographer Aurora Jayne.
