Enter The Haggis Live! to be Filmed at Plattsburgh State Dec. 4, 5

PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Enter The Haggis , an explosive Celtic-rock quintet based in Toronto, Canada, will use the Hartman Theatre at Plattsburgh State University of New York as a backdrop for a video to be filmed during two live concerts on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 4 and 5.

The Student Association Activities Coordination Board is working with Adirondack Productions to produce the video, which will be aired nationwide on the Public Broadcasting System possibly during the local stations' telethons in March 2004.

Jon Conwall, S.A. vice president for activities, said he was excited about bringing the group to Plattsburgh State for the video.

Michael Harrington, assistant to the S.A. vice president for activities said," Both John Conwall, vice president for activities, and myself are excited about being able to offer this type of event to the student body. Hopefully, the publicity from this will help show the students and community the positive side to college life at Plattsburgh State."

Enter The Haggis performed to a crowd of several thousand people during the Mayor's Cup festival last July. The band combines the traditional sounds of the highland bagpipe and fiddle with a powerhouse rhythm section and strong vocals to create an infectious hybrid of old and new. Their raucous live shows have made them a favorite at festivals and clubs across North America since their inception in 1996.

Fans and concertgoers will be able to attend the two concerts, which will be held on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. both nights in the Hartman Theatre, Myers Fine Arts Building. Seating is limited to 350 per night and doors open at 7 p.m.

Tickets for each performance are $10 for the general public and $3 for S.A. members and are available at the Angell College Center Information Desk or can be reserved online at www.emediacentral.net/pbs
