Department of Music to Present Concert by the Key Winds Trio
The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music will present clarinetist Janine Scherline in a faculty recital with the Key Winds Trio 2 p.m. March 3 in Krinovitz Recital Hall, Hawkins Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
Other members of the trio are oboist Janice Kyle and pianist David Carpenter. The concert program, “Romancing the Tone,” will feature works by Aram Khachaturian, Wilhelm Berger, Paul Gilson, Astor Piazzolla and José Bragato.
Since 2006, Key Winds Trio has performed in a variety of musical settings and venues, from private functions to benefit concerts and local concert series. The musicians enjoy performing in intimate settings that allow them to connect with their audiences. Key Winds Trio has performed in the “American Preservation Concert” at Memorial Chapel in Plattsburgh, was a featured ensemble for a benefit concert for the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts, and has appeared on the Mountain Lake PBS series, “Art Express.”
Locally, the trio has performed concerts at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Peru, Plattsburgh Presbyterian Church, Lake Forest Retirement Community, Essex Community Church Performance Series and the Wake Robin Retirement Community in Vermont.
