Department of Music Presents Key Winds Trio In Concert


PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2009) - The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music presents Key Winds Trio in concert on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. in the Krinovitz Recital Hall located in Hawkins Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

The trio consists of David Carpenter on piano and SUNY Plattsburgh music faculty members Janice Kyle on oboe and Janine Scherline on clarinet. The full-length program "Something Old, Something New, Many Things Borrowed ..." will feature solo performances by Kyle and Scherline. The trio will perform music from many style periods including a new work, "Capriccio," composed by Gregory Wanamaker, a composer at the SUNY Potsdam Crane School of Music. The piece was commissioned by the trio in 2008 and was premiered in September as part of the Essex Community Church Concert Series.
