Cybersecurity Conference Planned for Oct. 27 at SUNY Plattsburgh
“Cybersecurity: It’s Not Just the IT Department; We All Have a Stake in It,” a cybersecurity conference featuring discussions on cyber threats and how to defend against them, will be held Friday, Oct. 27 from noon to 4 p.m. in Au Sable Hall, SUNY Plattsburgh.
In addition to an address by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the conference will include learning common-sense practices to protect your small business by the Center for Cybersecurity and Technology at SUNY Plattsburgh, a discussion of IT security threats and defenses by Twinstate Technologies, a look at bitcoins, wallets, digital commerce and blockchaining technology, and effective cybersecurity and leadership buy-in.
The event, which is free and open to the public and is being held as part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, is sponsored in part by SUNY Plattsburgh, Twinstate Technologies, the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton Community College, and Workforce Development Institute.
