Collica Earns Regional Weekly Honor
CENTERVILLE, Mass. (Sept. 22, 2009) - Kaitlin Collica, a senior defender on SUNY Plattsburgh's nationally ranked-No. 11 women's soccer team, has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference NCAA Division Upstate Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 21.
A Baldwin, N.Y. native, Colllica was instrumental in helping the Cardinals' defense limit opponents to only three shots on goal during a 2-0 week. She also scored her first goal of the season in Plattsburgh's 5-0 win over State University of New York Athletic Conference and North Country foe Potsdam last Saturday.
