College Gearing Up for Reunion 2015
Ahoy alumni. SUNY Plattsburgh is setting sail for Reunion 2015, July 9-12.
The Plattsburgh Alumni Association will be honoring those alumni whose graduation years end in “5” and “0” with events like a reunion barbecue at the dock, a picnic under the tent, craft beer tasting, a Red and White networking reception, a bus tour with Bill Laundry, vice president emeritus of student affairs and a local historian, and the Golden Anniversary Club reception, which honors its newest members, graduates from 1965.
The Mayor’s Cup Regatta and Festival, now in its 38th year, combines the best of lake sailing with landlubber entertainment. Alumni are encouraged to participate in the annual Boat Parade of Lights Thursday, July 9. Decorated boats will sail from Wilcox Dock to the Naked Turtle Holding Co., 1 Dock St. beginning at 7 p.m. On Friday, the band, Strange Brew, will entertain downtown at the Lions Club Band Shell along the shores of the Saranac River near the Macdonough Monument.
And on Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m., SUNY Plattsburgh alumni and SUNY honorary degree recipients Eric ’93 and Leigh ’94 ’96 Gibson will perform with their band, The Gibson Brothers, at the band shell.
