College Council Meets Today at SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury Campus

The SUNY Plattsburgh College Council meets today, Sept. 22, in the J. Buckley Bryan Regional Higher Education Center at the SUNY Plattsburgh campus in Queensbury beginning at 12:30 p.m.

In addition to regular reports by President John Ettling, council Chair Martin Mannix, Student Association President Vrinda Kumar and committee chairs, the council will act on a resolution in support of the Maintenance of Effort legislation which would require the state to fund predictable increases to SUNY/CUNY operating costs like utilities, rent and salaries.

The council will also hear presentations on SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury by a student panel, Michelle Howland, assistant to the dean, on the history of the branch campus, and from Dr. Stephen Dana, dean of the branch campus, on the programs, grants, conferences and reaching out to the community and on the uniqueness of the branch campus.

Following today’s meeting, council members will be given a tour of the facility.

The next College Council meeting will be Monday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in the Hermes Conference Room, Au Sable Hall.
