Closing, Opening Exhibitions Feted at Burke Gallery in Myers Fine Arts Building
The Plattsburgh State Art Museum will host the closing of one exhibit and the opening of another in September.
A closing reception for “Ars sacra: Devotional Works from the Western Tradition,” on display in the Burke Gallery, second floor of Myers Fine Arts Building, will be held 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 in the Winkel Sculpture Court, adjacent to the Burke Gallery.
The opening reception for the next Burke Gallery exhibition, “Visual Sway: Political Art from the Collection at Plattsburgh State Art Museum,” will be held Thursday, Sept. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gallery. The works explore the various intersections of art and politics. Guest curator, Dr. Jason Miller, will give a gallery talk that evening.
Refreshments will be served at both events, which are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Melody DeLong, museum secretary, at 518-564-2474, or email [email protected].
