Classes Cancelled, Offices Closed Friday in Honor of President Reagan


PLATTSBURGH, NY __ All classes at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh will be cancelled on Friday, June 11 in honor of the late President Ronald Reagan. Governor George Pataki has also declared that all State offices, including the offices at Plattsburgh State, will be closed on that day for the former president's funeral service at the National Cathedral in Washington.

Earlier this week, President Bush ordered all Federal offices be closed as well Friday in observance of the death of the nation's 40th president. All national and state flags across the state have been lowered to half-staff until July 5, 30 days from the day of President Reagan's passing.

Exceptions:

Although all classes and most state offices will be closed at the College, several offices will be open for regular business hours on Friday.

The SUNY Plattsburgh Federal Credit Union, located in Hawkins Hall, will be open for regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.). The Angell College Center and Information Desk, Campus Life, Fitness Center (in Memorial Hall) and the Third Age Adult Day Care Center (in Sibley Hall) will also be open on Friday.
