ChoralFest '16 Features Faure's 'Requiem'
The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music presents its annual ChoralFest concert Friday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St., Plattsburgh.
The combined College Chorale and Cardinal Singers will perform Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem” as the concert’s centerpiece, accompanied by a professional orchestra. The performance will feature graduating senior, Ayrice Wilson, as soprano soloist in “Pie Jesu.” Baritone guest artist, Darik Knudsen, sings “Libera me.”
The chorale and Cardinal Singers will also perform separate repertoires as well, with the choral performing works by Dowland, hassler and Brahms and the Cardinal Singers performing Brahms’ Motet, Op. 29, a setting of three verses from Psalm 51, beginning with “Create in me a pure heart, Oh God.”
