Cards Rank 57th in Learfield/NACDA Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Dec. 10, 2009) - Cardinal Athletics is in a 57th place tie with 75 points among all NCAA Division III institutions after the second release Thursday of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup fall standings by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

SUNY Plattsburgh sent its men's and women's soccer teams to the NCAA tournament in the same season for the first time in school history. The men advanced to the second round to receive 50 points and a credit for 17th place in the event. The women's team made its first national appearance since 1995, credited 25 points and a tie for 33rd in the tournament.

The cross country squads sent three individuals to the national meet last month, but their performances do not figure into the NACDA standings.

The directors' cup is based on a school's finish in NCAA Championships.
