Cardiology Conference for Healthcare Students, Providers Slated for May 22 in ACC


The EXPLORE Healthcare Conference: Cardiology, will be held Tuesday, May 22 beginning with registration and refreshments at 7:30 a.m. in the Angell College Center.

EXPLORE stands for Experience and Professional Learning Opportunities Result in Excellence, a collaborative educational planning consortium of community healthcare providers and educators that includes SUNY Plattsburgh, among others.

The conference will feature discussions on sleep apnea and cardiovascular disease, acute stroke management, sports medicine, and more. Students in SUNY Plattsburgh’s nursing, medical technology, pre-health, biomedical sciences, fitness and wellness are encouraged to attend.

In addition, conference attendees will hear Dr. Carol Lipszyc, associate professor of English, read from her poetry anthology in “The Heart is Improvisational,” “thus integrating science and art,” Lipszyc said.

The conference is open to the public. Registration is $125 for the general public; $50 for healthcare students and includes conference materials, breaks and lunch.
