Cardinal Men's Soccer Trio Honored by ECAC
For the second straight season, the Plattsburgh State men's soccer team produced three
players on the all-region team by the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Seniors
John LoGuirato, Bart Misiak and Chris Taylor were named to the All-ECAC Upstate/Metro
Team recently.
Upstate and Metro includes nine conferences: State University of New York Athletic,
Liberty League, University Athletic Association, Empire 8, Landmark, New Jersey Athletic,
Middle Atlantic, City University of New York Athletic and Skyline.
Taylor, a center midfielder from Liverpool, England (Cardinal Heenan), led Plattsburgh
in scoring with 21 points on four goals and a SUNYAC-leading 13 assists. He was second
in the league in total points and ranked sixth in the nation in total assists. Taylor,
who is a two-time all-region honoree, finished his four-year career as the Cardinals
all-time leader with 38 assists.
A product of Ronkonkoma Sachem North High School, LoGuirato (Holbrook, N.Y.) helped
a Cardinal defense that ranked first in SUNYAC with 12 shutouts and posted a 0.73
goals-against average. He is a four-year all-region player who contributed two goals
and five points this season.
Misiak, of Mississauga, Ontario (St. Martin's Secondary), last month made NSCAA All-Region
for the fourth consecutive season after battling through injuries in 2010 that cost
him five games played and a third-straight bid for All-America honors. But he still
managed to record career highs of two goals, two assists and six points while anchoring
a formidable Cardinal back line.
In 2009, the same trio made Cardinal history by earning ECAC all-star honors for the
first time in the program's history.
