Campus Express Opens in Angell College Center

Although it has taken a semester longer than anticipated, Jerry DeCelle, director of the College Store, said students should like what they find within the new Campus Express.

"We did a survey of students about two years ago asking what they wanted. They said they wanted more grocery items, health and beauty aids, a variety of services including shipping and color copying, and several other things. We have those services now all in one convenient location," said DeCelle.

The store, which has nearly tripled in size from its existing 820 square foot retail location in Saranac Hall to 2,400 square feet, will provide adequate space for a UPS shipping center, check cashing, an ATM and color and black and white duplicating services. It will also house Freshen's, SubConnection and Fresh Express, which will be operated by Sodexho Campus Services.

Patrick Spellman, Sodexho Campus Services manager, said, "It is great to get Freshen's and SubConnection back in operation. We hope the students will also find the new location easy for them."

The move to the Angell College Center was made possible after the Book Nook was moved to the College Store and Java Jo's was relocated adjacent to Flynt Commons on the second floor of the center in spring 2003.

With the relocation of Campus Express, the College Store will now gain much needed additional space for its operation in Saranac Hall. Plans call for renovations to the bookstore, which will result in a new and expanded location for the Book Nook, additional hours and more selection.

A grand opening of the facility will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11 with many special giveaways and vendor promotions that week.

Hours for Campus Express are: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - midnight; Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. - midnight. Chicken wings, pan pizzas, mozzarella cheese sticks and Philly cheese steak sandwiches are some of the exciting items on the late night menu.
