Book Signing Features New York Times Best Selling Author
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ New York Times best-selling author Da Chen will be at the State
University of New York College at Plattsburgh for a book signing on Thursday, March
31 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Da Chen, author of Colors of the Mountain (Random House, 2000), will be signing copies of his book at the College Store's Book Nook. That evening, Chen will also give a presentation, "From China to Wall Street to Random House," at 8 p.m. in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center.
Da Chen came to the United States from Yellow Stone, China when he was 23. He is a graduate of the Beijing Language Institute and also a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law. He is an accomplished flutist and calligrapher.
He will be discussing his years growing up in China during the Cultural Revolution under Mao Zedong. Da Chen will also be discussing how to write and get published. In addition to Colors of the Mountain , he has written Sounds of the River (Harper Collins, 2002), his memoirs, and his first book of fiction for teens, Wandering Warrior (Delacorte Books, 2003). USA Today called Warrior , "China's Answer to Harry Potter."
All of his books will be available for purchase in the Book Nook at his signing and in the Angell College Center during his presentation.
