Amy McCasland Named SUNYAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Amy McCasland of the Plattsburgh State women’s track and field team has been named State University of New York Athletic Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 22.
McCasland won the 1,000-meter dash at the St. Lawrence Indoor Invitational with an ECAC-qualifying time of 3:03.56. The Saranac, N.Y., native, who was competing in the event for the first time, finished just 2.32 seconds short of the meet record. McCasland was also part of the Cardinals’ 4x400 meter relay team that took second place in 4:28.01.
The Cardinal track and field teams return to action this weekend at Boston University for the Terrier Invitational.
