Adirondack Wind Ensemble to Present Marcus Memorial Concert Jan. 28
The Adirondack Wind Ensemble will present its annual Eleanor Marcus Memorial Concert Sunday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall.
The program will include works by Robert Russell Bennet, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Frank Ticheli and Gustav Holst. Featured soloists include flutists Robin Cameron-Phillips and Trevor White on Domenico Cimarosa’s “Concertante.”
The ensemble is a professional music ensemble of wind and percussion instruments performed by music educators and community members from throughout the region. The concert is named in honor of Eleanor Marcus, whose endowment established through the Plattsburgh College Foundation helps fund the performance.
Daniel Gordon, professor of music and founder of the ensemble, will direct. General admission tickets are $10 at the door. Students are free.
