1993 Film Parallels Rape, Murder of Indian Woman Last Fall
The SUNY Plattsburgh Asian Studies Committee and the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies will show the film, "Damini," 7 p.m., Friday, April 19 in Room 201, Yokum Lecture Hall.
“Damini” is a film about a woman in India who witnesses her husband's younger brother raping the maid-servant. The husband is too late to prevent the assault. The family then conspires to cover it up.
