Reporting and Statistics


The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh is committed to assisting all members of the campus community in providing for their own safety and security.

Make a Report

If you have been a victim of crime, the effects of your experience can go far beyond the crime itself and can cause you a considerable amount of inconvenience, worry or stress. Your University Police are committed to supporting victims and witnesses during the criminal justice process. We will do all we can to help you feel safe, informed and supported.

If you have been a victim of a crime or wish to make a report, please contact the University Police department  at 518-564-2022.

Anonymous Reports

Anonymous reports can be made to University Police by calling the Hazing Hotline at 518-564-5555, the Vandalism Hotline at 518-564-2677, or online through the Silent Witness Program.

Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made online to the Title IX office through the Title IX Anonymous Reporting form.

Main Campus

The SUNY Plattsburgh Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) contains a wealth of information to inform the community about campus security policies, programs to prevent and respond to crime and emergencies, and the occurrence of crime.   

The ASFSR also contains information regarding campus security, personal safety, and fire safety. Topics such as: the structure and role of the University Police Department, emergencies/crimes, sexual assault, campus escort service, residence hall security, residence life, personal responsibility, drug/alcohol policies, fire safety policies, fire statistics, and how to access registered sex offender information at SUNY Plattsburgh are discussed in the narrative portions of this report.

Printed copies of the ASFSR can be picked up at the University Police Department, located in the Health Center Building on campus. Information can also be obtained from the U.S. Department of Education.

Queensbury Branch Campus

SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury is committed to assisting all members of the campus community in providing for their own safety and security.

The ASR contains reported crimes information for the 2017 academic year, information regarding campus security, personal safety, and fire safety. Topics such as:  the structure and role of the SUNY Adirondack Public Safety Office; emergencies/crimes, sexual assault, personal responsibility, drug/alcohol policies, fire safety policies, fire statistics, and how to access registered sex offender information are discussed in the narrative portions of this report.
