Overview

The College Days program provides North Country and Capital District high schools a chance to jump start their students' college selection process by exposing them to college life.

Students will receive advice from admissions professionals, hear from currently enrolled students, talk with faculty about degree and career pathways, take a campus tour, and eat in the dining facilities!

During the program, your students will:

  • Participate in an interactive presentation on the college search process.
  • Learn how their strengths translate into majors with an assessment taken prior.
  • Interact with faculty in discussions about career options and degree pathways.
  • Take a campus tour.
  • Enjoy a complimentary on-campus lunch.
"The presentation was engaging and provided great tips for the college search and application process. Students were also able to interact with faculty members, current students, and other high school students in small groups based on their interest areas, making the experience more meaningful."
- Candice Spooner, Fort Ann High School
"We have brought students to Plattsburgh's College Visit Event for the past few years and each year we are more and more impressed. It has become an annual event at our school that the students, teachers and I look forward to. Plattsburgh does an excellent job of engaging the students in person and through social media, meeting them where they're at with technology and following up with students after the event. Even though our students come from a very small school and were out of their comfort zone, they felt safe enough during the event to volunteer, participate and ask questions. Admissions staff does a great job of presenting not just Plattsburgh, but what college is like in general."
 - Whitehall Central School
"It provides an opportunity for students to visit a SUNY campus and get a feel for what a college campus looks like."
- Joanna Scotch, Fort Edward
