- Program Information
The SUNY system offers students the opportunity to choose from hundreds of programs in a variety of locations. If you cannot find a Plattsburgh program that fits your academic, professional, or personal goals, then consider a program through another SUNY campus. Options include summer, winter, spring, and fall, as well as internship and service learning opportunities in many areas of study. To begin your search, visit www.suny.edu/studyabroad.
All Plattsburgh students must complete the Study Away Course Approval Form. Students participating in a SUNY study abroad program will earn elective credit upon passing their courses, but have the opportunity to fulfill major, minor, or general education requirements if approved by the appropriate department.
- Housing
Housing options vary by program. Please consult the administering SUNY campus for more information. Please note that all study abroad students need to notify the Campus Housing & Community Living Office at Plattsburgh upon acceptance into a program.
- Support Services
All students accepted to study abroad are welcome to attend a general orientation session hosted by the Global Education Office prior to the end of the semester. Any questions specific to the program should be answered by the administering SUNY campus or your host institution.
- Cost
The cost of a program varies greatly. Please consult the cost estimate for your program, which you can access through the administering SUNY campus. If you would like financial aid to apply to your study abroad program, please visit the Financial Aid Office at Plattsburgh with your cost estimate to see if you are eligible.
Please note that all Plattsburgh students participating on a SUNY program will be billed and pay for tuition and applicable fees at SUNY Plattsburgh. The international program fee or tuition differential will be paid to the SUNY campus that is administering your program. For many programs, students pay their housing costs directly to the host campus abroad.
