Dr. Minjun Kim
Visiting Assistant Professor, Management, Information Systems & Analytics (MISA)
Minjun Kim is a SUNY Plattsburgh alum who graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 2014. He earned his Ph.D. in Systems Science, specializing in Network Science and Complex Systems, from SUNY Binghamton in 2024. During his Ph.D. program, Minjun began his professional career at an early-stage startup focused on conversational AI. He played a key role in developing AI-driven contact centers, reducing customer support costs for major brands such as Verizon, HBO, Oral-B, and others. His work involved building AI systems from the ground up using machine learning technologies, enhancing the firm’s intellectual property, and bringing their products to market.
After exiting the startup, Minjun transitioned to consulting in the analytics and cognitive division, where he led AI projects that delivered innovative solutions and improved operational efficiency for global enterprises. In addition to his consulting work, he has returned to SUNY Plattsburgh as a visiting assistant professor, teaching management information systems and analytics courses while mentoring the next generation of data professionals.
