Leah Sweeney


Director of EVENTS MANAGEment

Leah Sweeney is the Interim Director of Events Management on campus. She received her bachelor’s in theatre from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2015. She will be graduating with her master’s degree in student affairs and higher education from SUNY Plattsburgh in May 2022.

After graduating, Leah became the technical supervisor at the Performing Arts Center for the University at Albany. She has also participated in regional conferences where she created and directed the KCACTF 2018 Technical Olympics. Leah also participates in monthly trainings and developments with Landmark Worldwide to enhance her leadership skills and development.

At SUNY Plattsburgh, Leah loves being involved on the campus where she can. She currently serves as the LGBTQ+ Resource Committee Chair. She is an advisor to the local sorority, Theta Alpha Lambda and is currently a member of the Resource and Planning Committee. 

Since her return to Plattsburgh, Leah has been involved in the community in various capacities; serving on the board of directors for the Plattsburgh Public Library, volunteering and participating in multiple community organized events. Leah’s creative passion lies in crafting, particularly cross-stitching and she organizes community get-togethers centered around needle point. Leah lives in Plattsburgh with her dog Gucci and cat Tiffany.
