Competency Exam Schedule
- Mathematics Competency Exam/Calculus Readiness Test (or pass MAT 102): All students must take and pass a calculus readiness test if you want to enroll in MAT 221, 224 or 228. If you fail to pass the test, you must take MAT 102 – precalculus. If you have college credit for precalculus, you may enroll directly in the calculus course without taking the readiness test. However, if transfer credit is not posted, you will need to be provided an override by the department chair. If you wish to take MAT 224 or 228 you must also pass MAT 104 – trigonometry.
- Library Proficiency Exam: Register for the exam.
Scholarships & Careers
- Siemens Healthcare Scholarships for Students in Clinical Laboratory Science (MT,CT)
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics and the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) will award over $120,000 in scholarships this year to clinical laboratory students. The purpose of the scholarships is to help defray education costs, promote clinical laboratory science as a rewarding career and help address the workforce shortage of qualified professionals. Last year DX and the ASCP awarded more than 100 scholarships to the nation’s top clinical laboratory students. Awards are available to eligible U.S. students pursuing associate, bachelor’s or master’s degrees in clinical laboratory science. Special legacy scholarships are awarded to students who follow their family members into the laboratory profession. For more information on the DX Scholarship Program, including types of scholarships, how to apply, as well as downloadable application forms, visit: https://usa.healthcare.siemens.com/about-us/healthcare-business-groups/diagnostics/scholarships-programs or http://www.ascp.org/scholarships
