Dr. Siavash Amon

I completed my undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Waterloo in Canada. I continued my studies at McMaster University where I obtained both my M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees studying specification of dopaminergic neurons using C. elegans as a model organism.

In 2017, I started my post-doctoral fellowship to work with Dr. Lesley MacNeil at the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute and the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research (IIDR) at McMaster University studying gut microbiome. During my post-doc, I studied the effect of several different infectious gut bacteria and their effects on C. elegans intestine.
