About the Presidential Search

SUNY Plattsburgh is searching for its next president.

College President John Ettling announced in August 2018 his plans to retire at the end of the 2018-2019 academic year. Dr. Ettling became the 10th president of SUNY Plattsburgh on June 15, 2004 after serving as vice president for academic affairs and provost at the University of North Dakota for six years.

The college has retained RPA, Inc., a respected executive search firm with expertise in higher education, to assist in its search. An 18-person committee, representing a wide range of campus constituencies, working with the firm will review candidates and participate in all meetings and interviews. No fewer than three names of acceptable candidates will be submitted to the Chancellor for consideration and appointment of the college's next president.

This section of the college website contains all relevant public information relative to the search process.

For questions, contact Anne Whitmore Hansen, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Plattsburgh College Foundation, who is serving as college staff liaison on the search committee. She can be reached at [email protected] or 518-564-2090.
