Calculus Readiness Test

You have been directed to this page because you are a new student who has declared a major that requires Calculus I (MAT221 or MAT224), CSC217, or CSC221. Successful completion of any of these courses requires at a minimum, a sound foundation in a pre-calculus course. Your readiness may be demonstrated by having confirmed transfer credit for our MAT102 Pre-calculus course, or by passing the Calculus Readiness Test (CRT). If you do not plan to take any of the four courses listed above, or you have not yet taken a precalculus course, or you do plan on taking MAT 102 (Precalculus), then you do not need to take the CRT.

Instructions

The readiness test is accessible through the button below. After clicking on the button, you will be asked to log in to the Readiness Test with your Plattsburgh student ID and password.

This placement test may only be taken once. Students who do not pass it must take Plattsburgh’s MAT102-Precalculus course in order to show readiness.
