The Teaching and Technology Software Tools Grants provide up to $250 towards the purchase of software to support the creation of teaching and learning materials at SUNY Plattsburgh.
The grants are competitive, and applicants should take special care to ensure that their submissions include a cover letter indicating why the requested software is required, how it will be used, and whether the applicant has prior experience in the use of the software.
No faculty member may submit more than one application in a 12-month period, but applications will be accepted throughout the academic year until available Software Tools Grants funds are exhausted.
The Software Tools Grants are specifically designed to provide for software installations on individual faculty desktops: applications for hardware will not be accepted, nor will applications for laboratory or classroom installations of software.
The award of a Software Tools Grant should not be taken to imply that support for the software will be available, and no guarantees can be made to ensure that the requested software will run as desired on the applicant's system. Careful attention should be paid to minimum system requirements before a software title is requested. Any opened software that cannot be installed on the applicant's system will be added to the pool of software resources in the Instructional Technology Resource Center (ITRC) in Feinberg Library.
Complete the application form and return it to Peter Friesen, Instructional Technology Coordinator, Feinberg Library, Room 317. Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2014 or until available resources are exhausted.
