- About Plattsburgh
Working closely with the Division's Instruction and Reference Services (IRS) and Computing Systems and Desktop Support (CSDS) units, Instructional Technology oversees a range of programs and services calculated to encourage the advantageous use of technologies in teaching and learning at SUNY Plattsburgh.
This site provides you with a clearinghouse for information on instructional technologies at SUNY Plattsburgh. From here you can connect to information, tips, and advice on subjects ranging from day-to-day computing to extraordinary combinations of teaching and technology. The menu at the left side of this page provides information on a host of topics related to Instructional Technology, ranging from information about programs to demonstrations of particular applications.
Our IT workshops will help you to be a more competent and independent user of technology. We teach the skills that will improve your ability to use technology well, in the classroom and beyond, helping you to meet your goals and create the best possible learning experience for your students.
SUNY Plattsburgh's commitment to instructional technologies takes in not only the LIS Instructional Technology unit, but also a Teaching, Learning, and Technology Group (TLTAG), appointed by the President and serving as an advisory body.
As part of the State University of New York, Plattsburgh is also involved with SUNY's state-wide Faculty Access to Computing Technology committee. The SUNY-FACT committee oversees, among other things, the annual statewide Conference on Instructional Technologies (CIT).
