Getting Started with WIDGET

Working with WIDGET

Introduction to WIDGET

SUNY Plattsburgh's Web Content Management Tool

WIDGET is the authoring environment and content management tool for SUNY Plattsburgh's official Web pages. WIDGET separates written content from layout elements — eliminating the need to know HTML to create Web pages. All official departmental pages hosted on the official SUNY Plattsburgh web site at are created through WIDGET.

For SUNY Plattsburgh, WIDGET allows rapid deployment of new web site designs and meets the needs for accessibility, marketing, and presentation of the college.

For the content creator, the greatest advantage of WIDGET is that content itself can become the main focus: there is no need to lose time worrying about troublesome formatting or layout issues, as these are handled through the program itself.
