Ordinarily, there will be little need to change the default encoding profile. The preset profiles will give you an optimal combination of multiple-bitrate settings for the media server at Plattsburgh State. Nonetheless, there may be times when it will be to your immediate advantage to make some adjustments, most notably, when you are recording a "Live" session and when your computer seems unable to keep up with the data being supplied. In those instances, you may make adjustments for the initial live recording by selecting a single-bitrate encoding option instead. Once you have finished making the recording, you can then re-encode the recorded file using the multiple-bitrate settings.
