Adding a Date Modified Stamp

FrontPage makes it easy to add a stamp to your web pages indicating when the page was last modified. Conveniently, once you've added the timestamp to your page, you need never worry about it again: it will automatically update itself to reflect the current date whenever you edit the page. Here's how you do it: start by entering some small description as an introduction to the timestamp. "Date Last Modified" or "Page Last Edited" will do nicely. Then add a space, and, from the Insert menu, select Date and Time... . The follow dialog window will appear:

In this window, you should select the field marked "Date this page was last edited," adjust the Date Format, if you so choose, and then click the OK button. Every page on your site should indicate the date of its last revision.

If you've been following this set of helpfiles from the beginning, you've now been introduced to the basics of creating web pages using FrontPage, had a quick overview of the toolbars available for editing pages in FrontPage, and learned how to create hyperlinks and add timestamps.

From here, you can move onwards to a discussion of the layout options introduced through graphics, tables and cascading style sheets.
