 SUNY Plattsburgh Classroom Overview and Directory

Nearly all classrooms on campus fall into the designation of Smart Classroom or Computer Classroom. We also offer a mobile Smart Cart option in selected buildings Specialized Rooms are another option.

Computer Classrooms

Computer classrooms offer students technology-enhanced opportunities for hands-on learning. The rooms are configured exactly like Smart Classrooms, with the addition of a computer workstation for each student and at least one laser printer. All machines are connected to the Internet and the campus network.  To reserve a computer classroom, contact the Registrar's Office.

Smart Cart

A Smart Cart is a portable smart classroom. It's an audio-visual cart equipped with a computer, projector for data and video, and a VCR/DVD combination unit. All Smart Carts have the same basic software setup. NOTE: If jacks are available in the classroom, the carts are configured for Internet access. Without a jack, the Internet will not be available on the computers. Carts are building-based, and do not move among buildings. Smart Classrooms

The equipment list below shows the standard technology profile of all Smart Classrooms on campus. Some rooms have additional special equipment, such as a slide projector or Smart Board. Each Smart Classroom has the same basic software installed. NOTE: If you are seeking a room with specialized software, please contact Alyssa Drowlette (see contact info on bottom of page). To reserve a smart classroom, contact the Registrar's Office.

  • Teaching Station (podium) at the front of the room

Hardware

The teaching station contains a Dell Optiplex computer and a 19" Dell LCD monitor with 2 USB 2.0 jacks. Other resources available are:
