Procedures for Changing Rooms

When warranted, students may request a change in their living situation. Roommates must be considered and taken into account before a room change may take place. If the change is taking place within a residence hall, then the change may be arranged with the Hall Director. If the change is to take place between residence halls, then it must be arranged with the Housing and Residence Life Office.

All room changes must be approved and arranged before the actual physical move is to take place. The physical move may only take place at certain times during the semester, and students will be apprised as to when the move can take place. Since your ID card will be programmed with necessary security access for your residence hall, changing buildings requires an update to this programming. You will have 24 hours so that you can complete the physical move.

End of fall semester room changes must be arranged before the last week of the semester. The physical move will take place during the last week of the semester and must be made before leaving campus. Students who do not leave their rooms ready for new occupants will be asked to return to campus to do so or will be billed as appropriate for set-up or single occupancy.
