New York State Public Health Law requires that an offer of HIV related testing be made to all persons between the ages of 13 and 64 receiving hospital or primary care services except under specific circumstances.
Kevin Colon from the AIDS Council will be providing free HIV and STD testing for our students, once a month.
The first testing date is Fri., Feb. 22, 2013, from noon until 4:00. Students must sign up ahead of time by coming down to the Center.
If your test is negative, you can learn how to protect yourself from being infected in the future. If you are positive, you can take steps to prevent passing the virus to others, and you can receive treatment for HIV and learn about other ways to stay healthy.
The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York also offers free, confidential counseling and testing by appointment. They are located at 202 Cornelia Street, PO Box 903, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (518) 563-2437.
Location: We are located directly behind Saranac Hall and Macomb Hall. View Center hours and availability.
