I Want to Work in the U.S. - What Are My Options?

There are a variety of ways that international students can get experience working the United States. A great place to start is working on-campus . Many international students are employed in offices throughout the campus. However, it is strongly recommended to consult with an advisor in International Student Services with pursuing any off-campus positions.

International students may pursue internship opportunities off-campus according to the U.S. immigration regulations. International Student Services (ISS) will be able to provide more information and help students obtain the proper employment authorization to work off-campus. Please contact ISS to learn more about your off-campus employment options including Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT) and visit the International Student City Information Center .

Volunteering during college is a great way to develop a life-long commitment to serving your community and being a good citizen.Volunteering can additionally be an excellent way to develop skills, gain related experience, and to network.This can assist you in preparing for your career and finding a job after graduation.
