What Is A Non-Matriculated Student?
A non-matriculated student is a student who is not currently enrolled in a degree program.
As a Non-Matriculated Student, How Do I Register For Courses?
Step 1: Apply
Note: This form requires Acrobat Reader, which is available as a free download.
- Process a Non-Matriculated Student Registration Form (PDF file size 74.9kb) before the published class start date.
- Mail the form to the Registrar's Office, SUNY Plattsburgh, 101 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 or FAX to 518-564-4900.
Step 2: Receive Registration Approval
The Registrar's Office will forward an e-mail to you after your application is received and processed. The e-mail notification will explain your assigned date and time to access Banner Web to complete the registration process. Please note that all applications must be received at least two business days prior to the start date of the class.
Registration Dates for Summer 2008 Courses
- Registration: Summer 2008 non-matriculated student registration begins April 12, 2008 (10 a.m.) through the first day of course. Click here for additional summer information. Please register early.
Registration Dates for Fall 2008 Courses
Registration: Fall 2008 non-matriculated student registration begins August 10 (10 a.m.)
Step 3: Register on Banner Web
Once your application has been approved, you may register for courses on Banner Web .
- Access Banner Web from BannerWeb link listed above.
- Login to Secure Area.
- Enter USER ID (e.g., 700112222 or social security number).
- Enter your PIN (initially the last six digits of your social security number).
- Login.
- Student Menu
- Registration Menu
- Select and Submit Term.
- Select Look up Classes to Add
- Enter course search criteria.
- Check box next to desired course(s), scroll to end of page, and submit changes or enter course reference number (CRN) directly and submit changes.
Notes
- As a non-matriculated student, you may register for classes on a space-available basis. SUNY Plattsburgh reserves the right to deny entry to a class if a non-matriculated student does not meet the prerequisite criteria or other established registration criteria.
- Non-matriculated students may register for a maximum of 11 credit hours each semester (fall/spring).
- Non-matriculated graduate students who plan to matriculate into a graduate program may apply a maximum of 12 graduate credit hours accrued as a non-matriculated student toward a graduate program.
