Cross Registration

Cross registration is a cooperative arrangement permitting full-time, matriculated undergraduate students at SUNY Plattsburgh to cross register for a maximum of two courses per academic year at other colleges with which we have cross-registration agreements (Clinton Community College, Empire State College, or Adirondack Community College). Cross registration enrollments at these colleges must be in courses not available or not accessible to the student at SUNY Plattsburgh. This program is available during the fall and spring semesters only. SUNY Plattsburgh students who plan to cross register must pay full-time tuition and fees and register for at least half of their academic load at SUNY Plattsburgh. No extra tuition charge is assessed, but students are responsible for any fees that may be required by the host institution for a particular course. Credits and grades earned through cross registration are recorded on the academic record, and they are calculated in the grade point average. Credits completed through cross registration also apply to the residency requirements. Students must have approval to cross register from their advisor, chairperson of their major (or designee), and the college registrar. Cross-registration is dependent on seat availability at the host institution, and registration, add/drop, and course withdrawal dates and procedures of the host institution must be followed. Waitlist

All courses can be waitlisted during the spring and fall semesters only with the exception of internships, practica, independent studies, and courses designed for learning communities. When a course reaches its maximum enrollment and additional students attempt to register for it, a waitlist is formed as students are given the option to add themselves to the wait-list.Students are not automatically added to the wait-list; they must select the waitlist option on the registration system when they attempt to register for a closed course. Students will not be given the option to waitlist if they do not have the course prerequisites.Students may remove themselves from waitlists at any time during the registration period. The waitlist is built on a first-come, first-served basis. The waitlist program runs approximately four times daily. The process will automatically register the first student on the list into the course when a space opens if no registration-checking errors exist (i.e., time conflicts, duplicate course registration, maximum credit limit exceeded, etc.). This process creates an email forwarded to the student's Plattsburgh Webmail account as notification of successful movement from the waitlist to the course. All waitlists will be purged (see academic calendar for purge date each fall/spring semester).Therefore, all students are encouraged to select alternate courses if they have not moved from the waitlist by the end of the course adjustment period. For additional waitlist information, visit http://web.plattsburgh.edu/register/undergraduate.php .
