Registration Dates and Information for Newly Accepted Students

Entering Fall 2008

Freshmen

• Information regarding services, dates, and deadlines is forwarded to all new students.  Questions may be directed to the Admissions Office (518-564-2040).
• July 2 (9 a.m.):  Freshmen Orientation 1 (College Center Ballroom); registration immediately follows in Feinberg Computer Lab.
• July 8 (9 a.m.):  Freshmen Orientation 2 (College Center Ballroom); registration immediately follows in Feinberg Computer Lab.
• July 11 (9 a.m.):  Freshmen Orientation 3 (College Center Ballroom); registration immediately follows in Feinberg Computer Lab.
• July 15 (9 a.m.):  Freshmen Orientation 4 (College Center Ballroom); registration immediately follows in Feinberg Computer Lab.
• July 18 (9 a.m.):  Freshmen Orientation 5 (College Center Ballroom); registration immediately follows in Feinberg Computer Lab.
• July 22 (9 a.m.):  Freshmen Orientation 6 (College Center Ballroom); registration immediately follows in Feinberg Computer Lab.
• July 27-August 21:  Banner Web online registration available.
• August 24 (10 a.m.):  In-person course advisement/registration if needed (Claude J. Clark Learning Center).

Transfers

• April 5 (10 a.m.) - August 31, 2008 (midnight):  Plattsburgh's branch campus transfer students' online registration; staff at the branch campus are available to assist with registration.
• June 11:  Main campus transfers begin contacting department chairs for course advisement and to obtain the registration code (PIN) required to access Banner Web registration.
• June 27 - August 31: Banner Web online registration.  Note:  Banner Web registration is not available during freshmen orientation sessions and prior to opening weekend.  View Banner Web registration time ticket for login access dates and times. 
• August 24 (10 a.m.):  In-person course advisement/registration if needed (Claude J. Clark Learning Center).

Readmits

• Banner Web online fall 2008 registration May 4, 2008 (10 a.m.) - August 31, 2008 (midnight); registration codes are not required.

Graduate

• Banner Web online fall 2008 registration April 5, 2008 (10 a.m.) - August 31, 2008 (midnight); please register early.  Registration codes are not required.

Banner Web (Online Registration)

1. Access Banner Web from Plattsburgh's homepage at www.plattsburgh.edu .
2. Click on Banner Web link.
3. Click Login to Secure Area link.
4. Enter USER ID: enter your social security number (no hyphens or spaces).
5. Tab to PIN field (do not press the return/enter key).
6. Enter PIN: enter the last six digits of your social security number if this is your initial Banner Web login. Transfer students are required to entire a registration code after entering the login PIN.  The registration code is provided by the department chairperson of the student's major.
7. Login.
8. Select Student Menu.
9. Select Registration Menu.
10. Select Term (Fall 2008).
11. Select Look Up Classes to Add.
12. Check the box next to the desired course(s), scroll to end of page, and submit changes. Approval to add a closed course is granted by the department chairperson only. 

Notes

• Undergraduate students requiring assistance with course selection should contact the department chairperson of his/her major initially.  If additional course selection advisement is needed, feel free to contact the Office of Academic Advising: Claude J. Clark Learning Center, 518-564-2080; advise@plattsburgh.edu.
• Students are responsible for all tuition and fees associated with their spring 2008 course registrations. If you have been accepted to Plattsburgh, but cannot attend during the spring 2008 semester, please contact the Admissions Office:  10th Fl, Kehoe Administration Bldg; 518-564-2040; admissions@plattsburgh.edu  as soon as possible.
