Clinton County Emergency Services

Helping Emergency Services Aid You Better

Through an initiative supported by FEMA and the State Emergency Management Office in Albany, TAC partnered with the Clinton County Office of Emergency Services (CCES) to design and implement a comprehensive GIS-based resource to enhance local emergency management.

A preliminary Needs Assessment was conducted to determine the agency's specific requirements. The NA included inventory reviews, staff interviews, potential applications, and conceptual system and database design. Following the NA, an Implementation Plan was devised and TAC began assembling data sets and creating the GIS Response application.

Due to the sensitive nature of the data involved, we chose a desktop GIS solution, utilizing ESRI's ArcView software. Data sets stored in a secure personal geodatabase can be quickly accessed to produce custom maps, which are used for prevention, response, and recovery planning.
