Internal Funding Opportunities

In-House Mini Grants 

In-House Mini-Grants are periodically available to faculty and staff at the College to provide "seed" money to initiate a new, or continue a current, externally sponsored project. 

The In-House Program Development Grants are available to support activities, which seek to enhance the visibility of Plattsburgh State through special programmatic activities. The size of both these grant programs is generally modest. In House Mini Grants must be and Program Development Grants must be linked to either a new or continuing project that will/has been submitted an external sponsor.

The focus of these requests may be research, educational and/or public service based.

*Quarterly deadlines, as follows: September 14, 2012; November 15, 2012; February 15, 2013; April 15, 2013; June 14, 2013

Presidential Research Award* - March 29,2013

The Presidential Research Award Program will support full time faculty who wish to design projects and programs to develop and conduct research based activities which will enhance their growth as scholars and the research environment at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Redcay Research Award* - March 29, 2013

The Redcay Research Award to honor the memory and contributions of Edward "Doc" Redcay, will support full time faculty who wish to design projects and programs to significantly enhance and improve their growth as teacher-scholars, Plattsburgh State's curriculum, and its teaching and learning environment.

New York State and United University Professions Programs

Professional Development Individual Award Program (PDIAP)

The State of New York/United University Professions Professional Development & Quality of Worklife Committee’s Individual Development Awards Program is intended to assist eligible full-time and part-time employees in the Professional Services Negotiating Unit (08) in the development of their full professional potential in preparing for advancement. Up to a maximum of $1,000 per proposal may be awarded (average award is $200—$350).

NYS/UUP Campus Grants & Campus Grants on Technology

In the past, the State of New York and United University Professions mutually agree upon the following objectives for campus grants:
 

  • Encourage cooperative problem solving;
  • Strengthen professional development;
  • Enhance the quality of working life and the creative use and understanding of technology;
  • Foster safer working conditions, while expanding affirmative action programs;
  • Provide professional enrichment opportunities;
  • Increase communication.

Dr. Nuala McGann Drescher Affi rmative Action/Diversity Leave Program

This program is intended to enhance employment opportunities for minority group members, women, employees with a disability, or Vietnam-era veterans in the Professional Services Negotiating Unit (08) by assisting them to prepare for permanent or continuing appointment within SUNY. In the past, these leaves were for one full semester and covered both salary replacement and project-related expenses.  This program in not accepting applications until a negotiated and signed collective bargaining agreement is in place.
