| Departmental Awards | Varies | Many of our academic deparetments are able to make awards available to continue students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their major. View our list of academic departments offering continuing student awards for more information. If your academic department is not listed, contact your department for information on awards that may be available. |
| Federal Work-Study | Up to $2200 | Students may qualify for Work-Study by filing the FAFSA by February 15th each year, answering yes, interested in work-study, on the FAFSA and meeting the financial need criteria. Work-study positions are available on campus and in the local community. Wage rate is $7.25/hour (effective July 24, 2009) and most jobs are for an average of 8-10 hours/week. |
| Campus Employment (Temp Service) | Varies | A student must be currently enrolled on at least a part-time basis to use the services of the Student Employment Office. Demonstration of financial need is not required. For further information on part-time and summer employment opportunities, contact the Student Employment Coordinator, Kehoe Administration Bldg, Room 202, (518) 564-2071. |
| Resident Assistant | Varies | Undergraduate students accepted into the resident assistant program qualify for a waiver of their room costs and partial meal costs. Information and application details are available by contacting the Residence Life Office at (518) 564-3824. |
| Graduate Assistant | Varies | Graduate Assistantships are offered as a tuition waiver and a stipend, and are usually granted for an academic year but under special circumstances awarded for a single semester. The types of assistantships available at Plattsburgh are: residence hall director, administrative assistant and research/teaching assistant. Applications are available through the Graduate Admissions Office. |
| Vocational and Educational Services | Varies | New York State as well as most other states offers resources for individuals with disabilities through a Vocational and Educational Services agency. In New York State, this agency is called VESID. Information on VESID services and contacts can be found at www.vesid.nysed.gov. |
| Commission of the Blind | Varies | New York State's Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped offers many services including: job training, counseling, assistive technology, transportation and reader services, and more. |
