Center for the Study of Canada - Quebec Summer Seminar
2010 Dates soon to be announced!
Background
The Quebec Summer Seminar (QSS) is the flagship program in the United States for professors of Quebec Studies seeking a deeper appreciation of contemporary Quebec. The QSS, a week long experience convened in Quebec, is purposely designed to offer participants a holistic approach to the study of Quebec that incorporates historical, cultural, social, economic, commercial and political perspectives. Since 1978, the QSS continues to significantly contribute to the growth of Quebec Studies across the United States by providing a robust multidisciplinary professional development opportunity for academics. Those interested in enhancing Quebec Studies content in their course offerings and/or research are particularly encouraged to register in our program.
Program
The QSS is a 5 day program that begins on a Monday morning and concludes mid-day on Friday. The program includes meetings with leading Quebec experts for discussions on essential historical, political, cultural, social, and economic topics. Depending on the year, the QSS is held for one week either in the month of June or August.
The format of the QSS will be consistent with past programs; download the 2008 program for review. (526Kb PDF file)
