CONNECT Program at SUNY Plattsburgh

Welcome to CONNECT, a comprehensive nationally focused program dedicated to the identification, recruitment, orientation and mentoring of new Canadianists for the American higher education community. This program, spearheaded by the Center for the Study of Canada, State University of New York College at Plattsburgh, works to promote the growth, development and institutionalization of Canadian Studies in the United States. CONNECT provides an innovative, holistic approach to support American-based scholars for sustained engagement in the teaching and research of Canada.

Now in its fifth year of operation, CONNECT has had a demonstrably positive national impact on the engagement of new scholars on Canadian issues. To date, nearly 300 doctoral candidates and faculty members across the U.S. are members of the mentoring program. CONNECT is regarded as the most important program on record in the United States for identifying, orienting and mentoring prospective new Canadianists.

CONNECT is a joint program of the Center for the Study of Canada, State University of New York College at Plattsburgh and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada.
