PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Adirondack Wind Ensemble will perform its grand finale concert for the 2004 season on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Plattsburgh.
This concert is part of the commemoration activities of the Battle of Plattsburgh. The ensemble will perform memorable works including Variations on America by Charles Ives, Sinfonia Noblissima by Robert Jager and a collection of popular tunes from the Revolutionary War Period such as Clare Grundman's Spirit of '76.
Tickets are $5 for general admission, and free for children under 12 and anyone with a Battle of Plattsburgh admission button. For more information, contact the Plattsburgh State Music Department at (518) 564-2180.
This event is co-sponsored by Champlain National Bank, Fox 44 and the Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration Committee. It is also made possible, in part, with public funds from New York State Council on Arts, Decentralization Programs, administered locally by the Council on the Arts for Clinton County.
The Adirondack Wind Ensemble is directed by guest conductor Herm Matlock, adjunct lecturer of music at Plattsburgh State. The ensemble consists of music educators and faculty and community members from the greater Plattsburgh area.
