FREDONIA, N.Y. (Nov. 5, 2010)—Theresa Lilly of SUNY Plattsburgh has been named to the All-State University of the New York Athletic Conference East Division Second Team in volleyball, the league announced on Friday.
A sophomore outside hitter from Staten Island (Commack High School), Lilly led the team in kills (195), attack attempts (609), hitting percentage (.181) in a year in which she recorded additional career highs for assists (22), service aces (13), digs (171) and total blocks (21).
“I am so excited for Theresa that she made All-SUNYAC. She did a great job for us this year,” Plattsburgh volleyball coach Dena O’Connell said. “Theresa, along with her teammates, did bring the team to another level. I am so proud of her improvement” to help the team make some positive steps in 2010.
Lilly becomes the ninth Cardinal in school history to earn all-conference honors and the first since Keiko Watanabe in 2007.
